USC's University Village

USC’s University Village rendering via USC

Friday August 18th kicked off the gradual opening of a variety of retail establishments at the USC Village Development at 3131 South Hoover.  Among the many new retail services to come to USC’s University Village are Target, Trader’s Joe’s, Trejo’s Tacos, the Village Cobbler and Sole Bicycles.

CDTech, a member of the UNIDAD Coalition, is working to ensure the local hiring goals of the USC Development Agreement with the City of Los Angeles, are met.  CDTech is taking the lead with the Economic Development Coordinating Committee comprised of  local stakeholders to oversee the implementation of the Agreement.
Four local non-profit workforce development providers were selected through and RFI process to train and prepare local South L.A. job seekers to fill the various jobs available in the Village.  The Right Way Foundation, Archdiocesan Youth Employment Services, Los Angeles Hospitality Training Academy and the Pacific Asian Consortium in Employment are preparing trainees for jobs in the Customer Service, Hospitality/Food Service and Facilities and Maintenance positions.

There are on-going training and job placement opportunities still available.  Please contact the training agencies directly to get involved!
